Space Scum is a tactical, turn-based RPG set across a series of procedurally generated planets, so every run offers new environments, enemies, factions and missions. You pick a custom origin and decide where to go and who to deal with - and your choices shape the outcomes you face.
The universe is harsh and unforgiving, and survival isn’t guaranteed. Recruit and manage a roster of mercenaries, level them up through combat and missions, and beware: fallen squad members are lost for good. That permanent risk makes every hiring and upgrade decision matter.
Combat encourages varied approaches. Squadmates can be specialized in close-quarters fighting, traditional firearms, or support roles like shields, hacking and deployable turrets. As you progress you’ll move from basic ballistic and melee gear to more advanced tech such as laser arms and energy shields.
Between battles you’ll collect experience, loot and rewards to buy equipment, recruit new fighters and unlock skills, all aimed at growing your mercenary company into a dominating force in the grim sci-fi setting.
