Your noble family lies at the heart of Norland. Each member has unique skills (warfare, diplomacy, stewardship, scholarship), personality traits, cultural backgrounds and personal ambitions. They’ll build friendships, fall into drunken disputes or stab each other in the back—and you must steer them toward glory rather than ruin. Invest in their education, hunt down ancient texts to unlock new technologies, and decide how to hoard or trade precious knowledge. Below your nobles stand the peasants, the engine of your economy and the fickle source of your military strength. You cannot command them directly, only influence them through wages, taxation, piety, law enforcement and the example set by your lords.
