Players are tasked with executing a grand heist to recover a treasure of otherworldly power and challenge the Inquisition's forces. The game follows cursed pirate Afia on a quest to find the legendary Black Pearls to revive her own cursed crew. Each of the eight crew members is a playable character with unique supernatural powers and distinct personalities. For example, Gaëlle can launch allies or enemies with her magical cannon, Mr. Mercury can create portals with his soul anchor, and Afia can perform quick stealth attacks with her mythical sword.

Players join The Red Marley, a ghost ship with a living soul, where they can plan their next adventure or interact with their crew. Each crew member has individual missions that reveal their backstories and the reasons behind their cursed journeys.

Before each mission, players can choose their crew members and utilize their unique abilities to devise new strategies against the Inquisition. The game allows for flexible approaches, whether stealthy or direct, and encourages players to use the environment to their advantage.
