The Cursed Forest v23.08.2025

The Cursed Forest (Remake) - imagine taking the indie cult hit that once haunted IndieDB, feeding it a CRYENGINE glow-up, adding a fresh story and polishing a bunch of spooky bits. Original creator KPy3O teamed up with studio Noostyche to drag you back into those autumn woods - prettier, eerier, and with more pixels per scream.

Premise (aka why you're about to regret shortcuts)
You're rushing to the hospital because your mom needs you. Of course you take the "scenic shortcut" down an old, forgotten road through a very ominous autumn forest. Something darts in front of your car, you crash, and suddenly you're not just late - you're lost, surrounded by whispering trees and creatures that look suspiciously like nightmares dressed for fall. Your job: unravel the forest's past, perform a ritual, and free an innocent soul trapped in a monstrous body. Also, don't get eaten. Easy, right?
What to expect (spoilers: atmosphere > jump scares)
- Five distinct sections to explore - pick paths, poke at mysteries, and maybe get mildly lost on purpose.
- A dark, fairy-tale visual style: picturesque but spooky, like a children's storybook that switched to Gothic mode.
- Encounters with strange, mystical beings and weird situations - the game isn't trying to be ultra-grim; you'll find some oddly funny moments and meme-ready reactions among the tension.
- A gentle mystery-driven story that's more atmospheric than brutally difficult - not a Souls-level moodboard.
- Short and sweet: a full run-through takes around four hours. Perfect for a lonely evening and a cup of tea that's definitely too cold.
- Simple achievements for completionists who like checkboxes.
- Powered by CRYENGINE 5, so the forest looks properly gorgeous when it wants to be.
- Community-made localizations in Hungarian, Italian, French, Polish and Turkish - huge props to the fans. If you spot a typo or have ideas, the devs welcome feedback (shout at them politely).
Can you stop the rising darkness, save the trapped soul, and make it out with your sanity intact? 10/10 would get lost again.
