The game combines melee combat and magic, challenging you to fight enemies with different behaviors, strengths, and weaknesses. Victory depends not only on your character build, but also on how well you use it in battle. You’ll need to react quickly, cast spells at the right moment, and adjust your tactics depending on the situation.

Progression in Fatekeeper is deep and meaningful, giving you real freedom to shape your character. You can develop different combat styles, improve attributes, and specialize in various schools of magic. Whether you prefer brute force, speed and precision, or powerful spellcasting, the game supports many distinct playstyles.

Equipment also plays a major role. You can find and collect a wide range of weapons, armor, and magical artifacts, then mix and match them to create a build that fits your approach. The right gear can make a huge difference, especially as the enemies become more dangerous.

The fantasy RPG leapt off the screen at me the first time I saw it, with absolutely stunning environments and combat that feels like the next evolution of Skyrim. The team has now just dropped its second big update since launching into early access, integrating some of the most common feedback with initial implementations for the likes of FOV.
