Cairn is a realistic climbing survival game that puts you in the role of Aava, a professional climber attempting to conquer Mount Kami, a peak no one has ever reached before. The climbing feels natural and immersive, with simple controls that let you place your hands and feet intuitively while carefully managing balance, posture, and effort. If you make a mistake, a fall can happen quickly.

One of the game’s main strengths is the freedom it gives you. You can choose your own path up the mountain, study the terrain from below, and plan every move before committing. Since you can climb almost anywhere, each route becomes a personal puzzle, and every section of the mountain can feel like a major challenge. You’ll need to think ahead, solve problems on the wall, and adapt to difficult situations as they appear.

The journey is not only about climbing. Along the way, Aava meets unexpected people and learns more about the mountain’s past, while also confronting the question of what she is willing to give up to achieve her goal. Survival also plays a big role, so you must carefully manage supplies like pitons, chalk, tape, food, water, and medicine. Setting up bivouacs and searching for resources are essential if you want to make it to the summit.

Cairn is made by the team behind Furi and Haven, with music and sound design from developers known for Limbo, Inside, Control, and Cocoon, and with art and story created by comic artist Mathieu Bablet. It promises a challenging, emotional, and memorable climbing adventure.
