Over The Top: WWI is a fast-paced World War I action game focused on total battlefield destruction. Every part of the environment can be blown apart, from trenches and fortifications to buildings and terrain, so the front line is constantly changing and no plan stays safe for long.

The game lets you choose a role that fits your playstyle. You can storm the battlefield as a rifleman, support your team as an engineer, burn through trenches as a flamethrower specialist, or guide attacks as an officer calling in airstrikes. There are three factions to fight for: France, Britain, and Germany, and each one offers its own set of classes, with equipment and customization to unlock as you play.

One of the main features of Over The Top: WWI is its destructible sandbox. You can reshape the battlefield by blasting holes in the ground, destroying cover, collapsing structures, and changing routes in real time. Different maps, seasons, and times of day keep battles varied, and the built-in map editor gives players the chance to create and share their own arenas.

The game also supports huge 200-player battles, creating large-scale warfare filled with chaos, heavy vehicles, tank assaults, and constantly shifting objectives. Its arsenal includes flamethrowers, poison gas, dynamite, artillery, machine guns, airplanes, shovels, and a wide range of vehicles and experimental tanks. The game even adds some unusual touches, like using a baguette as a weapon or playing the bagpipe to raise morale.
