Atomfall is a survival-action game inspired by real events and set five years after the Windscale nuclear disaster in Northern England. In this fictional quarantine zone, you’ll explore a harsh British countryside full of strange people, cults, mystical elements, and rogue government forces.

The game focuses on a player-driven mystery, where you uncover the truth through exploration, dialogue, investigation, and combat. Every choice matters and can affect how the story unfolds.

To stay alive, you’ll need to search for resources, scavenge materials, craft weapons and items, trade with others, and fight your way through dangerous situations. Ammunition is limited, so combat is tense and often mixes shooting with close-quarters attacks. You’ll need to manage your stamina and heart rate carefully if you want to aim accurately and survive brutal encounters.

Although the setting looks peaceful at first, with green hills, valleys, and quiet villages, danger is hidden everywhere. As you move through cult-controlled ruins, caves, nuclear bunkers, and other threatening locations, you’ll face a dense and unsettling world.

Developed by Rebellion, the studio behind Sniper Elite and Zombie Army, Atomfall combines science fiction, folk horror, and Cold War atmosphere into a setting that feels familiar but twisted. Atomfall can be downloaded.

[spoiler=Steam Update Info 30.04.2026] Finally, someone is making a TV show based on a videogame that I actually want to watch I liked Atomfall quite a lot, especially after I stopped trying to play it like British Fallout and treated it as a linear survival-shooter instead.
