Play through two main modes: Fables Story Mode, where five full-length campaigns follow distinct heroes across the vibrant Crossdawn Isle, and Tusk Tales, a roguelite mode with randomized maps and escalating challenges. In Tusk Tales you choose from multiple mercenaries-each with a unique playstyle and starter deck-improving your build between runs and earning Husks, a currency used to upgrade mercenaries and unlock items for future runs.

The game offers deep deckbuilding options: hundreds of cards, dozens of archetypes, relics, and five factions let you experiment with combos like bombs, mechanical summons, cooking buffs, demonic minions, or even massive creature stampedes. With more than 500 cards, roughly 160 relics, and 20 archetypes across five factions, there are countless ways to customize your strategy.

Since Early Access, Cross Blitz has grown substantially: hundreds of new cards and archetypes, new story campaigns and roguelite maps, many new playable mercenaries, daily and weekly roguelite challenges with leaderboards, cosmetic card backs, enhanced visual effects and animations, plus revamped questing and reward systems and numerous bug fixes and balance updates.
