Forestrike is a martial-arts roguelite where each encounter is different and even defeat teaches you something. You play as Yu, a fighter crossing a fantastical realm to break an evil Admiral’s hold over the Emperor. As enemies grow tougher, Yu must rely on more than raw strength to succeed.
A core feature called Foresight lets Yu mentally rehearse battles before facing them for real, allowing you to test strategies without permanent consequences. The game’s roguelite structure creates new runs and layouts each time, so you’ll need to adapt, rest at Inns, and seek advice from wandering Masters to survive. Along the way you’ll learn permanent upgrades from five eccentric Masters-mixing and matching techniques to shape your playstyle and ultimately aim to win without needing Foresight.
Combat emphasizes fluid, puzzle-like kung fu fights where positioning, timing and move selection matter against overwhelming numbers. The world is rendered in detailed pixel art with handcrafted animation, populated by memorable characters, dangerous foes and mystical discoveries that give the journey a vivid, cinematic feel.
