Paper Pirates is a lighthearted social deduction game for up to ten players that turns ghost-hunting into a chaotic multi-day voyage. Each day a captain chooses a subset of the crew to take part in that day’s events, and those chosen can either obey the captain or try to cause trouble. After each day the whole crew votes to throw someone overboard - catch a ghost and the crew rejoices, but toss an innocent and their spirit will haunt one of their accusers and turn them into a ghost in turn.

The game’s twisty loop keeps everyone involved: being voted off doesn’t end your session - you return as the ship’s stowaway. Stowaways can’t win while hidden, but they can sneak back into favor by convincing the crew to eject someone else and climb the ranks. There’s a satisfying mix of bluffing, accusation, and social maneuvering, with obvious tension when someone’s vote could make the difference between celebration and a new haunting.

Paper Pirates offers several game modes to vary the experience. Classic delivers the core ghost-busting gameplay, Scored gives each pirate secret objectives and a coin-earning system to track who’s the meanest on the seas, and Trait assigns secret traits that bend the rules in unpredictable ways. On top of that, over sixty wild daily events - from exploring a desert island to travelling back in time - dramatically change the rules and keep matches fresh.

The social features are strong: you can create a lobby and share a room code so friends who don’t own the game can join from a web browser on PC, phone, or tablet, and it also supports local play or Steam Remote Play Together / other screen-sharing setups. Progression is light but rewarding: earn coins after each play to spend in the Ship Shop on outfit pieces, customisation options, and even naming your ship.
