WARNO is a real-time strategy game set during the Cold War, offering a detailed and immersive experience of a hypothetical World War III. As a spiritual successor to the Wargame series, WARNO places you in command of a customized battlegroup, allowing you to lead hundreds of units from the Cold War era to victory on dynamic battlefields. The game is set in 1989, two years after a coup in the Soviet Union, where tensions between NATO and the Warsaw Pact have escalated into open conflict in Germany.

Players can choose to command forces from six nations, including the United States, West Germany, the United Kingdom, France, the Soviet Union, and East Germany. Each nation has a unique arsenal of vehicles, aircraft, and soldiers, with over 1000 different military units available, such as the M1A1 Abrams tank, British MCV-80 Warrior, and Soviet SU-25 Frogfoot. The game features a detailed Armory where players can inspect and compare units.

WARNO offers a variety of game modes, including massive 10v10 battles, solo and online modes, and turn-based Army General campaigns. These campaigns depict a techno-thrilling World War III scenario in Western Europe, focusing on strategic areas like the Fulda Gap. Players can command famous military formations and brigades, customizing their battlegroups using an enhanced building system.

The game also includes eight scripted Operations that provide tactical combat missions with engaging narratives. The battlefield is ever-evolving, with detailed environments and realistic destruction. Maps offer numerous tactical options, from capturing industrial zones to navigating dense forests and rivers.
