A long-forgotten enemy rises: the Demon King returns, and without a champion to stop him the world will fall to corruption. He Is Coming is a roguelite role-playing game in which you scavenge by day for weapons, armor and artifacts, defend the realm from minions by night, and prepare for a new, terrifying hunter every three days. Each run forces fast, meaningful choices-sharpen your blade at an ancient forge, pay greedy merchants for rare trinkets, or seek mighty armor and magical shields-because time is short and every decision matters.

Every three days a different boss will hunt you, drawn from a pool of over 30 unique predators. Study their strengths and special powers and adapt your build accordingly. With more than 350 items to discover, the game emphasizes synergies and tradeoffs: sacrifice armor for speed and raw damage to beat the Razorclaw Grizzly before it strikes, or prioritize defenses and reflective gear against a Black Knight that absorbs your attack power. Some items grant unusual effects-faster characters who find the Saffron Feather can regenerate during combat; Razor Scales can reflect damage; enchanted Ruby Earrings deal periodic damage-yet even powerful weapons may strengthen certain foes, forcing hard choices about immediate survival versus future risk.

Inventory space is limited, and the lesser monsters that roam by night can wear down an unprepared hero. You’ll constantly balance near-term needs against the long-term threat, experimenting with countless combinations and discovering powerful item synergies to overcome each realm’s guardians until the Demon King himself stands before you.

He Is Coming also includes an asynchronous multiplayer mode called Kingmaker, where you hunt for the fallen Demon King’s crown while facing off against the builds of other players. Plan around other players’ equipment and abilities and contend with ever-changing, unpredictable combinations of enemies and gear. Progression is persistent: complete over 100 unique challenges and unlock new artifacts to expand the item pool for future runs, so even noble defeats push you closer to victory.

The world slowly decays as the Demon King grows in strength-trees wither, grass turns to ash, bogs putrefy. Take up the mantle of a hero, choose wisely, adapt constantly, and prepare yourself... for He Is Coming.
