Stellar Monarch 2 is a fast-paced, turn-based 4X grand strategy set in a feudal space empire. You take on the role of Emperor and head of the royal dynasty, balancing the ambitions of powerful dukes and barons while defending your realm from alien threats. Instead of managing every ship or farm, you focus on high-level decisions: issuing edicts, granting audiences, appointing ministers and advisors, and quelling rebellions or plots against your throne.
Core features:
- True imperial experience - handle nobles, intrigue and court politics as you ensure loyalty and obedience from Great Houses.
- No micromanagement - command fleets at a strategic level, set production priorities through edicts, and let your appointed officials handle the details.
- Feudal space society - negotiate, reward or punish noble families to secure military support and stability across hundreds of worlds.
- Asymmetric alien life - encounter alien species that follow their own rules. Some creatures become allies, others need to be driven out, and a few deserve your compassion as sentient neighbors.
The game is designed to remain engaging all the way to the end: massive galaxies don’t bog down, and you’ll always be making meaningful choices. Stellar Monarch 2 can be downloaded and launched quickly, letting you step into the imperial throne room without delay.
Version 1.25 released
This version introduces individual courtiers visits. Now courtiers can pop up during an audience (usually in bulk, several at once) with various issues. In practice, this means you have an incentive to banish (for free as an audience option) various courtiers which makes the Imperial Court more dynamic. There is also another big feature I was working on. This build is localization ready (in a crude state, not everything is ready, also disabled by default), so very soon, you should be able to play the game in your preferred language. There are also several bug fixes, small balance adjustments. Translators needed: If you wanted to help translating the game, drop by our Discord and shout that you want to be a translator. - Individual courtiers can appear on audiences with personal issues (gets corrupted, lose competence, lose charisma, is incompetent and should be fired, etc). - Experimental feature (need to be enabled via options): Change language (note: no locale files have been added yet, therefore in this version it's not functioning!). In theory, if you really can't wait, you could just drop the master file into some auto translator and add your language, it should work (instructions are included in data/locale/ folder).
