In A War Apart, a mysterious pirate leader unites disparate pirate clans to challenge the weakened Coalition. While you can still join the fight against the ruthless Dominators—the self-aware machines bent on galactic annihilation—you now have the option to enlist with, fight against or play both sides of the pirate uprising. Completing one storyline unlocks the other, and your choices help shape the final fate of the galaxy. Every campaign feels fresh as the AI’s actions and your own decisions tip the balance in unpredictable ways.

Beyond the new narrative, the game has undergone a significant technical overhaul. All menus, loading screens and planetary vistas have been redrawn, while support for high resolutions (up to 1920×1200), multi-core CPUs, Windows 7 and 3D anti-aliasing brings gritty space skirmishes and colorful planet assaults into the modern era. An extended soundtrack adds over 15 new musical tracks, and dozens of additional text adventures, battle maps, missions, events, ships, equipment modules and hyperspace encounters ensure there’s always new content to discover.
