Yaga is a darkly humorous action RPG set in a vividly hand-drawn world of Slavic folklore. You play as Ivan, a one-handed blacksmith cursed with remarkable bad luck, who must tackle impossible tasks assigned by the tsar while under the watchful eye of the enigmatic witch Baba Yaga. Every playthrough offers new twists: dynamically generated maps, multiple ways to solve encounters and plenty of hidden secrets to discover.

The latest Spirits for Spirits update (version 1.2) adds a brand-new Village Quest, “Spirits for Spirits,” unlocked after completing the “A Day to Dig” mission. You’ll also find a convenient Favorites menu for hammers, tools and magic items, a Sell Back option at merchants, mouse-and-keyboard remapping, and a complete removal of unintended bad-luck stacking from blessings and curses. General stability, performance improvements and numerous bug fixes polish the experience even further.

Building on the earlier Bad Fate update (v1.1), version 1.2 includes:
- Faster movement and a run mechanic tied to the dodge button
- Hardcore and Story modes for varying challenge levels
- Fast travel between unlocked locations
- Accelerated XP gain during periods of bad luck and a good-luck window afterward
- Witches who can lift your bad luck—for a price
- Weapon repair, new talismans, magic items, perks and crafting upgrades
- Smarter, more skillful enemies

Underpinning these features is a deep forging system that lets you combine hammers, pitchforks and other tools into weapons that teleport, shock foes or hook onto distant platforms. Experimenting with talismans, blessings, curses and perks alters Ivan’s abilities, reputation and upgrade options on each run. A head-bobbing Romanian hip-hop soundtrack by Subcarpați and rich pagan themes complete the atmosphere.
