Dustborn is a single-player action-adventure that weaves a tale of hope, love, and forged friendships in a world where language itself can be a formidable weapon. You control Pax—a banished con-artist with the unique talent of weaponizing words—who’s been hired to transport a vital package from Pacifica to Nova Scotia across an alternate version of America ruled by an authoritarian regime.

On this expansive cross-country journey, you'll travel aboard a futuristic, robot-driven tour bus through breathtaking Neo-Western landscapes rendered in a vibrant, graphic novel-inspired style. The game takes you to roughly a dozen distinct locations where you'll encounter a host of colorful characters, each with their own quirks and hidden depths. These stops are more than just scenic views; here, you’ll recruit and manage a charismatic crew of misfits whose relationships and personal stories evolve based on the choices you make during branching dialogues.

Language plays a pivotal role throughout the adventure. Pax uses Shouts and carefully crafted Vox—special words imbued with power—to sway conversations, distract enemies, and even wage unconventional battles. As you progress, you have the opportunity to invent new words, expanding your verbal arsenal and transforming everyday interactions into opportunities for creative combat and negotiation.

Every new setting presents a mix of exploration, investigation, and dynamic combat challenges. Whether it’s tossing Molotov cocktails off a speeding motorbike, fending off helicopters with a baseball bat, or simply shaking down locals for information, the game constantly keeps you on your toes with its blend of action and strategy.
