In SKALD, you gather your party and lead them through challenging combat scenarios, using a modern inventory system to equip your heroes. Fulfill objectives through quest logs, discover hidden secrets in journals, and choose to auto-resolve conflicts if needed. Prepare for your journey by crafting and cooking from a variety of recipes, selecting your character's stats, and building a party from diverse allies, each with unique skills and personalities. With a choice of a dozen classes and varied backgrounds, you can level up to 20, customizing spells and equipment to suit your style.

The game is set in an unforgiving world with choice-based dialogue, where your story takes unexpected twists and turns. As a mercenary, you'll need to roll the dice to determine your fate. Explore the grand schemes of the Gallian Empire and the vast expanse of Freymark and the Outer Isles, all illustrated in authentic pixel art inspired by the legendary Commodore 64 computer.
