A Week of Circus Terror is a horror indie game developed using Clickteam Fusion 2.5. The story revolves around Gerald, who visits a mysterious house that has been dormant for 40 years following the unexplained suicide of its owner in the 1950s. Gerald is on a quest to uncover the secrets behind his son's disappearance and the dark history of the house and its former owner. As night falls, players must survive and gather information about Gerald's lost son while facing terrifying challenges.
The game features clowns, scary sounds, environments, and animations, including intense jump scares. Players can earn fifteen in-game achievements, each with unique completion criteria. The scoring system rewards players for successfully resisting antagonists, with scores confirmed for each survived night. If a player fails, the score resets for that night, requiring a replay. Scores are divided into two segments: nights 1 to 10 and nights 11 to 13, which are independent of the storyline.
Gameplay involves using the mouse to navigate rooms, interacting with objects, and using various controls such as "F" for the flashlight, "Ctrl" for the light bulb, "M" for the map, and "Esc" to exit or access the menu. The game does not include a pause menu. Performance is enhanced on better computers, affecting movement speed, time progression, and transitions. The game launches in full screen, with the option to change resolution using ALT + ENTER.
This is the developer's first official game, created without prior experience in game development or animation. Despite this, players are encouraged to enjoy the experience.
