I Hate This Place is an isometric survival horror game focused on crafting, scavenging, stealth, and combat. Set in a cursed and twisted world, it throws you into a land full of nightmare creatures and strange reality-bending dangers, where surviving each day and night is a constant struggle.

You’ll explore Rutherford Ranch and its surrounding areas, including haunted woods, an abandoned town, and dangerous underground bunkers. As you move through these places, you’ll gather resources, craft tools and equipment, improve your campsite, and rebuild safe spots where you can take shelter.

The game features a day-and-night cycle that changes how you play. Daytime is your chance to search for supplies, prepare defenses, and get ready for what’s ahead. Once night arrives, the world becomes far more hostile, with deadlier enemies and much worse visibility, making shelter your best option in many situations.

Stealth matters just as much as fighting. Many enemies react to sound, so rushing in headfirst is usually a bad idea. Instead, you can distract creatures, sneak past them, or lure them into traps to gain the upper hand.

Visually, the game is inspired by an award-nominated comic series and uses a bold retro comic style with vivid colors, 80s-inspired flair, and a mix of horror, dark humor, camp, and gore. The result is a distinctive atmosphere that blends creepy tension with stylized charm.
