ShantyTown is a cozy building game inspired by the look and feel of tightly packed cities, where every wall, alley, and rooftop can seem full of character. In this game, you are encouraged to build upward, use small empty spaces creatively, and place lights and decorations in ways that make each area feel alive.

You play as a surveyor who visits 20 different locations, each with its own atmosphere and personality. From the glowing Hotpot Casino to the cramped Marshlands Pipe or the quiet Lighthouse, every place offers a different kind of challenge and a new visual style. Your job is to arrange objects in the space, shape the surroundings, take a photo of your finished work, and add it to your collection before moving on to the next location.

Some larger structures, such as buildings and gates, can be upgraded, but they need careful attention to reach their full form. Adding lighting, utilities, and decorations can turn simple places like shops, apartment blocks, and gates into richer, more detailed parts of the town. As you complete upgrades, you unlock even more items and decorative pieces to use in later builds.

Each map gives you a different set of objects and limited room to work with, so the challenge is to fit everything together in a way that feels natural and full of life. At the same time, the game stays relaxed and casual, with no wrong answers and no pressure to make everything perfect. Even the messy corners can add charm.

ShantyTown also includes a Creative Mode, where you can use all the locations and items you have unlocked to build without restrictions. There is also a Blankspace sandbox area for designing your own custom towns and shops with complete freedom.
