RUSHING BEAT X: Return Of Brawl Brothers is a fast-paced beat ’em up set in Neo-Cisco, a city once again threatened by a ruthless crime syndicate and a dangerous virus outbreak. After earlier victories over the city’s worst crises, a new evil has emerged, and a group of fighters must join forces one more time to uncover the real mastermind behind it all and bring peace back to the streets.

The game focuses on energetic side-scrolling combat with beginner-friendly auto-combos and plenty of room for advanced play. You can string together attacks, counters, follow-ups, and weapon strikes, with many moves able to be canceled by dashes or jumps for longer, more stylish combos. Throwing enemies is also useful, since certain throws can smash them into the background and reveal items or break hidden objects. As you fight or take hits, your rage gauge fills up, and once it reaches maximum you enter rage mode, boosting your power and defense and unlocking the powerful Beat Rush finishing move.

The story unfolds across 9 stages in locations such as malls, slums, subways, and laboratories. Each area also includes side missions and special stage challenges, giving the adventure more variety as you push forward and learn the truth.

As the campaign progresses, more playable fighters join the roster, bringing the total to 6 characters. Each one has their own unique style and abilities, and the game supports two-player co-op so you can team up with a friend and fight together.

The cast includes Rick Norton, a former detective and mixed martial arts expert; Douglas Bild, a pro wrestling veteran; Lord J., who practices Koppojutsu and Jujitsu; Wendy Milan, a promising young wrestler; Kazan, a ninja-trained operative; and Kahlua, a self-taught fighter with a mysterious past. Together, they form a strong team determined to stop the new threat and solve the secrets left behind by the Zeekus and Joecal incidents.

Between battles, you can also stop at the food truck checkpoint and combine food items into stronger recovery meals. Mixing three ingredients can improve healing and may even add special effects, making the game’s combo system useful not just in combat, but also when refueling for the next fight.
