Randomice is a Metroidvania-style game with a randomized twist. Instead of finding key items in fixed locations and unlocking abilities in a set order, everything is mixed up across the world each time you play. That means every run feels different, and you never quite know what you’ll discover next or how the house will unfold.
The game is all about adapting to the tools and upgrades you happen to find. Because item placement changes from one playthrough to another, you need to think on your feet, improvise, and make the most of whatever comes your way. This creates a highly replayable experience with lots of variety.
In the story, you’re a mouse trying to escape a strange laboratory. Just when it seems like freedom is within reach, you wake up back in a cage. Luckily, you’re not alone: Kimo, another trapped mouse, has found a remote control that can alter parts of the experiment and help open a path out.
Kimo’s experiments can make things even more unpredictable. He may shuffle the house layout, change where the mice are placed, or even alter the requests of the characters you meet. Each setting creates a new version of the house and raises the challenge.
If you ever get stuck, the game also includes a campaign designed to introduce players to randomizer-style gameplay, and Vyna can give you hints when you need a little guidance.
As you explore, you’ll collect tools that let you reach new areas, such as push pins for climbing wooden surfaces, a magnetic grapple for metal objects, and even a rocket for fast movement across the garage. Every new ability brings you closer to escaping the house.
Randomice includes around 10 hours of campaign content, 14 randomly placed upgrades, 14 rooms to explore, 20 characters with their own quests, multiple base and monthly challenges planned for 2026, 50 achievements, and a soundtrack mostly performed with real instruments.
