Kaodi is a short, narrative-driven experience about the wounds left by war-on the landscape and on the people who survive it. After helping secure victory against the Republic of Shan, the protagonist Barren makes his way home, carrying guilt, trauma, fractured friendships and shifting loyalties.

You’ll meet a variety of characters who each reveal different sides of the conflict: personal losses, quiet dignity, and chances for forgiveness. The game blends pixel-art aesthetics with 3D models and visual effects to create a distinct, attractive look.

A key feature is the Inner World, a space where you explore Barren’s inner thoughts. There you can reflect or engage with NPCs to uncover powerful testimonies, pick up small quests, and reveal more of the story. Although the fighting has ended, Barren still faces combat in certain areas-using his movement and combat skills to defeat foes and clear obstacles as he travels.
