Gameplay centers on capturing or executing enemy generals. Victory is achieved by taking out opposing commanders; defeat comes if Scarlet or Lily fall. Rather than simply holding territory, the game emphasizes supply lines: outposts connected to your headquarters provide powerful support each turn, and cutting or defending these lines shapes almost every strategic decision. Enemy forces arrive in overwhelming numbers with surprise reinforcements, so you’ll need to abandon weaker positions, concentrate your forces, and choose between ambushes, sieges, and full-scale assaults.

The Stream Airship is the game’s signature map-wide tool. It offers multiple "streams" that change the flow of battle-stall enemy advances, intercept supply lines, force surrenders, boost movement, and most importantly, activate a Capture Stream that lets Lily take enemy generals alive. Captured generals can be recruited, bringing new abilities and stream options; alternatively, you can execute them to gain raw power at the cost of losing certain story truths. This moral and mechanical choice-capture them all, or kill them for power-underpins the campaign’s stakes.

Allied relationships also matter: fielding certain pairs together raises trust, triggering Unite Episodes and unlocking powerful tag-team Unison Skills. Character design is by Rolua, and the story includes romantic bonds between women without erotic content.
