Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess is a single-player Kagura Action Strategy game set on the spiritually tainted slopes of Mt. Kafuku. By day, you explore nearby villages, purify shrines and prepare defenses. When night falls, you must shield the mountain’s Maiden from relentless hordes of Seethe emerging through Torii gates. Repeat this cycle until the entire mountain is cleansed and peace is restored.

Experience a world steeped in traditional Shinto aesthetics. Mt. Kafuku’s villages feature Kagura dance rituals, ornate masks and atmospheric music that draw you into an authentic cultural landscape.

The Seethe
After dusk, twisted spirits called the Seethe pour out of the Torii Gates. Each variety boasts distinct powers, and their sole objective is to hunt down the Maiden under cover of darkness. Challenging enemy designs and meticulous attention to detail heighten the sense of otherworldly threat.

Exhilarating Sword-Dance Combat
You take on the role of Soh, a guardian armed with a blade. Defend Yoshiro, the mountain’s Maiden, by unleashing graceful, dance-like sword strikes against the nightly invaders. Timing and precision are key as you parry, slash and weave through waves of foes.

Action Meets Strategy
Battles aren’t fought by Soh alone. Villagers you’ve empowered take on specific roles-archers, menders, even shrine excisers-and their placement on the battlefield is critical. Decide whom to target first, position your allies wisely and adapt your tactics on the fly as the Seethe shift tactics.

Purify the Torii Gates
Survive until dawn and escort Yoshiro to one of the tainted gates while sunlight still lingers. There, her sacred Kagura dance will cleanse the gate’s corruption, inching you closer to reclaiming the mountain’s former tranquility. Each purified shrine brings you a step closer to banishing the defilement for good.
