Submerged is a third-person, combat-free exploration adventure in which you guide Miku, a young girl who has brought her gravely wounded brother into a mysterious, flooded city aboard their small fishing boat. As you navigate the submerged streets, you’ll dock at towering, vine-clad buildings and scale their facades—using ladders, ledges, pipes and overgrown foliage—to search for the vital supplies needed to save your sibling.

Every vista in Submerged is a lush, open environment alive with color and unexpected wildlife. Whether bathed in bright daylight or cloaked in moonlit shadows, the city teems with creatures perched on rooftops or darting beneath the waves, inviting you to pause, breathe in the ocean breeze and soak in the serene atmosphere. There are no enemies to fight and no timers to beat—you set your own pace as you explore.

Your most important tool is a simple telescope. From high perches, you’ll scan distant rooftops and balconies for flares of light or glints of useful gear, then mark your discoveries on the map. Each building presents a navigation puzzle: find the optimal path by hopping across girders, pulling yourself up walls and squeezing through tight gaps until you reach the hidden objects that piece together the story of a broken city and a fractured family.

Developed by an independent Australian studio made up of AAA veterans who previously worked on the BioShock series, Submerged features an original, award-nominated score by composer Jeff van Dyck. With its emphasis on exploration, reflection and the quiet beauty of decay, Submerged offers a moving tale of redemption, sacrifice and determination set against a strikingly vivid backdrop.
