The Unexpected Quest is a medieval-fantasy adventure that weaves together exploration, strategy and resource management. Drawing inspiration from classics like Warcraft 3 and The Settlers, it challenges you to carve out a flourishing realm in a land teetering on the edge of chaos.
Explore Diverse Landscapes
Travel through sleepy hamlets, snow-clad peaks, shadowy woodlands and fetid marshes. Each region hides strange creatures—some will aid your cause, others will beg for help, and a few may eye you as their next meal. Wherever you go, new adventures await.
Gather and Stockpile Resources
No structure builds itself. Send your industrious dwarves to collect wood, stone, food and more—just make sure they’re well-fed or they’ll refuse to work. Maintaining a steady supply of essentials unlocks new construction options and allows your territory to expand.
Construct and Upgrade Buildings
Raise bridges over rushing rivers, lay docks in murky swamps, restore dilapidated cottages and erect brand-new facilities. Mills turn grain into sustenance, sawmills produce lumber, forges temper better arms and surplus goods can be sold at market. A range of architectural styles and color schemes lets you personalize every settlement.
Embark on Quests
Villagers and wandering strangers are full of requests: escort missions, monster hunts, lost items and more. Fulfill their needs to earn valuable rewards—and their heartfelt (if purely digital) gratitude.
Lead Armies into Battle
Words can only go so far when goblins and bandits stand in your path. Recruit seasoned fighters, outfit them with superior armor and weapons, then charge into skirmishes. A recent “Tales” mode adds fresh battle scenarios: tackle two new chapters with adjustable difficulty to test your tactical mettle.
Harness Magic and Potions
When supplies run low or your troops need a boost, enchantments and alchemical brews can turn the tide. Gather gold, complete special missions and plunder hidden chests to acquire powerful artifacts that keep your realm thriving.
