Half-Life 2 RTX takes the original's gritty story, tense gunplay and wonky physics and polishes everything to a mirror finish: full ray tracing everywhere, handcrafted physically based textures, fatter high-poly models and reworked lighting - all pushed to crisp 4K. It still plays like the game you know, only it looks like someone turned the lights on in City 17.
This is a free DLC for anyone who owns Half-Life 2, cooked up by Orbifold Studios - a community collective made up of modders and devs behind projects like HL2: VR, Remade Assets, Project 17 and Raising the Bar: Redux. Think of it as a fan-powered glow-up that keeps the soul of the original intact.
Under the hood it runs on the latest RTX Remix tech, including new RTX Neural Rendering tricks and full path-traced ray tracing, with NVIDIA DLSS 4 Multi Frame Generation and NVIDIA Reflex to keep frame times sane and input snappy. In short: familiar mayhem, but illuminated like never before.
