The game offers powerful building tools that let you quickly and easily design customizable ships, bases, and stations. With functionalities such as copy and paste, advanced symmetry modes, shape assistance for complex forms like spheres, cycles, and toruses, and even rotation of templates, creativity is truly at your fingertips. Moreover, StarMade features modular weapon systems, allowing you to mix and match components—from sniper beams to swarm missiles—to craft the perfect armament for your vessels.

An extensive rail and logic system offers tools to construct moving parts like elevators, sliding or rotating doors, and even intricate machines like cranes.
