RIOT Civil Unrest v1.0

RIOT: Civil Unrest is a unique and thought-provoking strategy game that immerses players in the heart of some of the world's most recent and significant confrontations. The game features campaigns based on real-world events such as the Indignados in Spain, the Arab Spring in Egypt, Keratea in Greece, and NoTAV in Italy. Additionally, it includes over thirty single-level scenarios, including the Gilets Jaunes protests in Paris, financial reform protests in Buenos Aires, economic protests in Caracas, and the G20 Rote Flora clashes in Hamburg.

In RIOT: Civil Unrest, players are tasked with achieving objectives for each scenario, choosing from a variety of strategies and tactics to reach the desired outcome. The game challenges players to either disperse an angry crowd or overcome a well-equipped militia, with performance ratings based on their approach. Aggressive tactics can lead to quick success, but a softer approach might achieve the same results without harming public opinion.
Key features of the game include:
1. Play as the Police: Utilize a range of crowd-control tactics, command different squads, and call in reinforcements like police trucks and water cannons. Decide on the use of smoke grenades, rubber bullets, or even live ammunition.
2. Play as the Rioters: Direct both armed and passive rioters, incite or calm the crowd, and use various tools like Molotov cocktails and fireworks to challenge authority.
3. Multiple Modes: Experience sixteen campaign levels across four scenarios, with the ability to play as either the Rioters or the Police. Engage in single-player mode against AI or versus mode with a friend or AI on the same computer.
4. Level Editor: Create and share your own scenarios using the powerful Steam Workshop Editor. Customize every aspect of your riot, from background images to character skins, and set your own gameplay rules.
RIOT: Civil Unrest was created by Leonard Menchiari, who drew inspiration from his firsthand experiences at the NoTAV protests in Italy. The game offers players the opportunity to explore both sides of the conflict, prompting them to question who is right and who is wrong in these complex situations. With its engaging gameplay and deep narrative, RIOT: Civil Unrest invites players to draw their own conclusions about the nature of civil unrest.
