Hammerting is a vertical dwarven mining colony sim with RPG elements. In this game, you manage a clan of colorful Dwarves, establishing an epic mining operation, crafting legendary swords, and delving deep for greater glory, riches, and danger. As conflict rages on the surface, the Dwarves commit to delving deep, using their master craftsmanship to produce and supply what is needed to support their allies. Starting with a small group of Dwarves, you must quickly set up operations, but as you progress, your clan will grow and become renowned throughout the Overworld for their skills and premium craftsmanship.

Crafting for victory is a key aspect of the game. Allies on the surface will have various requests, such as crafting silver swords to fend off an oncoming army. Every successful delivery brings you closer to triumph. As your Dwarves' skills grow and your base expands, you can build conveyor belts and elevators to reduce manual labor.

The game features colorful personalities, with each Dwarf uniquely defined by their stats, ancestry, traits, abilities, equipment, and more. You must exploit their strengths and manage their weaknesses to achieve success. Skilled craftspeople can create exceptional items, with every hammer strike on an anvil offering a chance for a critical result, leading to better and improved gear.

The living cave environment is full of challenges and opportunities. Only in the deepest depths will you find the most powerful materials, rare treasures, and dangerous conditions. Navigating these depths safely and efficiently is crucial, and you'll have access to unique Dwarven mechanisms to aid you. The game includes liquid and physics mechanics for tasks like pumping lava, brewing beer, and lighting up unknown areas.
