Below the Stone is a challenging pixel art roguelike game that immerses players in the adventurous world of dwarves on a quest to reach the deepest depths of the earth. Each descent into the caverns promises new adventures, where only the most determined players, willing to risk their lives, will uncover the hidden treasures below.

The game invites players to discover treasures that are worth the ultimate sacrifice. The stone beneath holds the adventure every dwarf dreams of, but it comes at a cost, often resulting in death. Players will explore and loot various cavern layers, with over 25 planned biomes to delve into. As players venture deeper, they will encounter more dangerous biomes, but also greater rewards to mine and uncover.

The Dwarven Kingdom serves as a hub for crafting, preparation, and storing loot for future expeditions. Players have the freedom to decide which resources to keep safe at home and which equipment to take on their next cave dive. However, there's a catch: if you die, you lose all the items you took into the caves. The kingdom also offers an ever-growing cast of allies to aid in your adventures, including a blacksmith who can craft weapons, armor, and equipment from newly found ores.

Unique characters can be encountered underground, and rescuing them will bring them back to your dwarven home as new companions. These characters, ranging from elven witches to legendary dwarven crafters, will enhance your kingdom and provide unique benefits for future descents.

Players must strategize to increase their chances of returning from each descent. New armor, weapons, and tools can make missions easier, but if you die, everything remains buried below. Wise resource management and planning are crucial for success, while daring players may risk their best gear to venture deeper.
