Whateverland is a uniquely crafted point-and-click adventure game that features hand-painted visuals and a branching dialogue system. Each level in Whateverland can be completed in at least two different ways, either by stealing from the inhabitants or assisting them. The rich dialogues not only provide insights into the world and its characters but also affect relationships with the residents and the sidekick, Nick. The game does not follow a strict chapter order, allowing players to switch between chapters if they feel stuck.

Whateverland includes 19 mini-games, though not all can be completed in a single playthrough. These mini-games range from giving a tattoo to a merman to making high-quality ramen, and for those on the path of a thief, there are numerous locks to crack. The story follows Vincent, a skilled thief who attempts to steal a necklace from an old woman named Beatrice, only to discover she is a powerful witch. As punishment, she sends him to Whateverland, a parallel world she created to trap her enemies. Vincent teams up with Nick, and together they must find a way to escape.

The game features a not-so-classic point-and-click experience where players can choose to steal or not, with their actions influencing the ending and how others perceive them. It includes a turn-based strategy sport simulator with magical elements, numerous mini-games, and music recorded with a real sextet, all presented in a beautiful hand-drawn art style.
