Giant Machines 2017 is a unique simulation game that allows players to take control of seven of the largest industrial machines ever created. These massive machines introduce players to the world of hydraulic systems, excavator buckets, and the unmistakable smell of diesel. Unlike many other simulators, Giant Machines 2017 features 14 main missions that are all part of a single narrative. The ultimate goal is to send a space shuttle to the International Space Station. Throughout the game, players will engage in tasks such as crushing mountains, moving tons of earth, cutting metal constructions, mining radioactive ores, and transporting various materials, including a space shuttle.

The game boasts accurately recreated cockpits and models, analog controls for actuators and cranes, and a full physics simulation, ensuring an authentic experience. The campaign takes place across six different geographical locations, including Greenland, Canada, Wyoming, Missouri, and Florida. The detailed depiction of the machines allows players to appreciate their immense size compared to humans, cars, and buildings on the map. Players can explore the machines from a first-person perspective, offering an immersive experience in the world of heavy machinery.

In addition to the main campaign, Giant Machines 2017 offers a Time Attack mode, which is unlocked after completing the story mode. This mode includes selected missions where players can earn bronze, silver, and gold medals based on their performance and compete for high scores. The game also features a Machine Library, a small encyclopedia with 3D models that provides technical parameters and performance data, broadening players' knowledge of the largest machines ever built.

The machines available in Giant Machines 2017 include the Bagger, a giant capable of tearing down mountainsides; the Crawler, a transport platform for space shuttles; the Demolition machine for cutting steel pipes and scaffoldings; the Bulldozer for moving earth, snow, or minor objects; the Dumper for transporting large quantities of mine output; the Digger for horizontal and vertical rock excavation; and the Car Crane for moving heavy containers with ease.
