Scramble Battle of Britain v010.004 - early access
"Scramble: Battle of Britain" is a tactical dogfighting game that immerses players in the intense aerial battles of the 1940 summer skies. Set in a dynamic 3D airspace, this game offers a unique simultaneous-turn-based experience that focuses on the intricacies of aerodynamics and physics-based simulation, while minimizing the demands on time and reflexes. Players lead their squadrons through the chaos of Luftwaffe and RAF fighters clashing over the English Channel, strategizing and commanding aerial maneuvers through the Planning, Simulation, and Review phases.
Key Features:
- Turn-based Tactical Dogfighting: The game breaks down the chaos of dogfights into manageable, thrilling segments. Players can sight enemies, identify threats, and command maneuvers like loops, rolls, and dives in a turn-based environment. The planning phase provides situational awareness and control, allowing for textbook-quality combat tactics.
- Early Access Features: The Squadron Leader mode lets players command an RAF squadron of twelve pilots through thirty days of intense channel interceptions. Each pilot has unique traits affecting their combat performance. The Dogfight Generator allows players to design and jump into missions instantly, choosing to fight for either the RAF or the Luftwaffe.
- Simulation, Physics, and Subsystems: Aircraft are simulated down to the subcomponent level, offering an authentic WWII combat experience. Players must manage aircraft vulnerabilities, such as fuel leaks and engine failures, and adapt their strategies for survival.
- Aircraft: Currently available aircraft include the Supermarine Spitfire for the RAF, and the Messerschmitt 109, Messerschmitt 110, and Junkers 87 “Stuka” for the Luftwaffe. Upcoming additions include the Hawker Hurricane, Bristol Blenheim, Dornier 17, Junkers 88, and Heinkel 111.
"Scramble: Battle of Britain" delivers a feature-rich experience in its Early Access release, with plans for exciting updates that will expand the game's depth and complexity.
