Mashinky v20.12.2024 - early access

Mashinky is an innovative transport strategy game developed by Czech creator Jan Zeleny. The game invites players to build their own transport empire on a procedurally generated map, combining realistic graphics with a traditional isometric construction mode and board game-like mechanics. Players start by managing a transport company, laying tracks across challenging terrains, researching and purchasing new vehicles, and optimizing routes to maximize profits from transporting passengers and various cargos.

The game offers a unique blend of strategy and simulation, requiring players to consider all aspects of business to succeed. The isometric construction mode, inspired by classic strategy games, presents a grid-based map where every change in traffic layout becomes a rewarding puzzle. Players can create simple tracks between two stations or design complex networks with junctions and signals to enhance efficiency and performance.

As the game progresses, players can expand and customize their transport empire by upgrading industry buildings, stations, and depots. New engines and special wagons can be added to trains, each offering unique bonuses such as increased capacity, new processing rules, and new cargo types. This allows players to develop strategies tailored to their network.

Mashinky also features innovative viewing modes, allowing players to ride their trains or observe their network's operation. Players can exit construction mode to explore the detailed 3D world, offering a different perspective on their track network or the opportunity to enjoy a train ride.

The game is currently in Early Access, with the first five of seven planned eras available. As development continues, more eras will be introduced, allowing players to progress from the Age of Steam to the modern world and into the future. Each era brings new industries, vehicles, and infrastructure upgrades, enabling players to grow their transport empire from humble beginnings to a vast network, eventually incorporating futuristic technologies like maglev supertrains.
