In Story Mode, you are tasked with performing a variety of operations, from opening ribcages to choosing transplant organs, all while ensuring that Bob doesn’t bleed out. The game is a whirlwind of botched jobs that will push your abilities to the edge. As the pressure mounts, you must decide whether to help or hinder the life-saving efforts in this unique and pandemonium-filled experience.

Campaign Mode offers a narrative crafted by award-winning writer Rhianna Pratchett, unraveling the mysteries of the medical facility with a plot that has more twists than Bob’s intestines. The Bossa Labs Medical Facility itself is a character in the game, with its labyrinthine corridors, devious puzzles, and tricky traps that seem intent on sabotaging your surgical career.

The game features a variety of settings, from space stations to discos, bowling alleys to carnivals, where your fellow surgeons have created incredible and unlikely scenarios for surgical procedures. With new levels and games being created all the time, the adventure never ends.

It's worth noting that prior to the transfer of Surgeon Simulator 2 from publisher tinyBuild to Infogrames, multiplayer functionality was removed. The team at Infogrames is currently evaluating this decision, but for now, the game remains a fun and irreverently funny romp through the world of high-stakes surgery.
