CUFFBUST drops you into a prison after a security failure - every cell is open and it's up to you and other inmates to scramble for freedom. You can team up, race against others, or stab your allies in the back to get out first.

The world is highly interactive and destructible: blow open doors, vents, and weak walls, or dig a stealthy tunnel with a spoon. The environment is full of tools and systems to exploit - check security cameras, hijack the intercom, cut power, remove air defenses for an aerial getaway, or fell trees to build a raft.

Voice chat is spatial and realistic, with dynamic reverb and occlusion so sound changes depending on distance and obstacles, letting stealth and coordination feel much more immersive.

CUFFBUST supports user-made content with an in-game level editor and Steam Workshop integration. Build and share custom prisons, obstacle courses, races, and arenas, or play creations from the community.

Ten-player lobbies offer many ways to play: cooperate with friends for a coordinated escape, betray teammates and sneak out solo, or form alliances to slow down rival groups. There’s a large assortment of tools and items - from spoons and frying pans to ID cards, riot shields, guns, and electrical supplies - that open up different strategies and approaches.

Customize your look with hundreds of free cosmetics, and explore numerous interwoven escape routes and mechanics so every run can feel different. Hostile creatures called Gerjohntons also roam the world and will attack players, adding another danger to watch for.
