THIEF'S SHELTER Build 20399140

THIEF’S SHELTER is a psychological adventure that blurs the line between a collapsing mind and the world around it. As Detective James investigates a strange homicide at Highburn Mansion, the environment and his own memories twist and change, forcing you to doubt what is real.
Set in a troubled Birmingham where police corruption and a shadowy organisation called the Red Order hide darker secrets, the story follows James after his transfer to the city. He battles the effects of artificial dementia and a haunting presence while digging into the case - an inquiry that gradually worsens his condition and pulls repressed memories into the open.
Highburn Mansion itself is unstable: rooms rearrange, doors and corridors reveal impossible connections, and surreal, disturbing imagery intrudes on ordinary spaces. Hallucinations and fragments of the past surface as you explore, so every discovery can alter both the house and James’ understanding of events. Some clues only appear on later attempts, and certain threads remain hidden unless you dig deeper.
Gameplay centers on careful observation, thoughtful deduction, and investigation rather than trial-and-error puzzles. James keeps a Memoir and Investigation Notes: the Memoir exposes his changing mental state and motivations, while the Notes record practical evidence you’ll need to solve puzzles and follow leads. Your objective includes recovering four key artifacts tied to the mansion’s mystery, solving multi-stage mechanisms, decoding symbols, and unlocking spaces that shouldn’t exist.
You’ll use tools like a flashlight, a UV light, and a digital camera to reveal invisible markings, footprints, bloodstains, and hidden layers of the environment. These discoveries get logged and can affect both the narrative and James’ psychological portrait.
THIEF’S SHELTER modernizes the classic point-and-click experience with smooth movement and richly detailed 3D locations, streamlined navigation, optional hints, and waypoint filtering to keep you immersed. The game is designed for replay: multiple playthroughs uncover new tapes, masks, journal entries, and an alternative ending that sheds more light on the truth. You won’t find every answer in a single run, but repeated investigations reward patience, note-taking, and community theorizing as you piece together the deeper story.
