Island Notes drops you and a group of survivors onto a mysterious, resource-rich island after a yacht accident. The game blends survival with romance and life-sim elements: you’ll forage and craft to survive, build bases, farm and fish, tame and raise pets, and form meaningful relationships with other castaways. The world is large and dense with vegetation and environmental resources, encouraging exploration across cliffs, caves, abandoned structures and even underwater areas.

NPCs are a major focus - each companion has a detailed affinity system, full voice acting, and autonomous behaviors (they can eat, sleep, cook, gather, and fight on their own). NPCs react to the player’s condition, provide emotional interactions and support, and can unlock new outfits as your bonds grow. The island is also populated by varied creatures and mutant monsters that live in specific habitats and pursue all-terrain combat, so encounters can happen anywhere.

Gameplay covers all core survival systems: base building, crafting of weapons and armor, farming, pet hatching and rearing (build a pet legion), and resisting waves of hostile beasts. There’s a wide selection of tools and weapons for combat and utility - axes, bows, spears, crossbows, firearms, plus non-combat tools like shovels and sickles. Extreme weather and dynamic threats add tension to expeditions, while the game’s open-world design offers unrestricted exploration of both land and sea.
