X-Out Resurfaced v1.03

X-Out: Resurfaced brings back the cult Amiga shooter and drops you into a tense, aquatic battle against an alien menace. Originally released in 1990 by Rainbow Arts, this reimagining has been rebuilt for modern platforms by ININ and Ziggurat, keeping the original spirit while modernizing visuals, audio and systems.

Instead of outer space, X-Out’s action takes place beneath the waves across eight distinct stages filled with varied enemies and massive bosses. The classic sprite artwork has been redrawn at high resolution and enhanced with particle effects and dynamic lighting so everything-ships, projectiles and environments-looks sharper and more alive.

A core feature returns and is expanded: the shop system. You can pick from pre-made load-outs or mix-and-match ships, weapons and accessories to create your own setup, with clearer item descriptions and visible weapon slots to simplify customization. For players who prefer company, local two-player couch co-op lets a friend join the fight.

The soundtrack is driven by veteran composer Chris Hülsbeck, who remastered his original pieces and contributed new tracks. The remake also features new tribute artwork by Ogan Kandemiroglu in honor of the original key art. If you want to flip the challenge on its head, Mirror Mode reverses the scrolling for a fresh test of skills, and optional cheats are available for those who want an easier run.
