AUTO-CRISIS is a short, tightly focused psychological horror experience that leans on atmosphere and unease rather than cheap shocks. You start on a rain-drenched forest road at night after your car breaks down, and the storm brings something else - unsettling, diesel-scented, and otherworldly. The game runs about 60 minutes and tells its story through an unreliable protagonist, fragmented environments, and surreal imagery that slowly reveal themes of trauma, carcentrism, and survivor’s guilt.
What stands out is the atmosphere: high-fidelity Unreal Engine 5 visuals, heavy rain and distant thunder that briefly reveal creatures in the storm’s vanishing light, and a sound design that rewards headphone use. Encounters are often subtle and uncanny - from crawling nightmares you mostly hear, to a draining radiant orb you must look away from, to a giant absurd manifestation towering above the trees.
