Planetary Life v0.7.6.2a

Planetary Life is a sandbox planetary simulation that lets you take an empty world and shape it into a living, breathing ecosystem. You sculpt terrain, control internal geology and climate, seed life, and watch evolution unfold as organisms grow from single cells to macroscopic creatures - and eventually, intelligence.

What you do
- Sculpt planets by manipulating tectonic plates, volcanoes and core heat to form mountains, seas and basins.
- Control climate factors such as rainfall, clouds and surface albedo, and alter atmospheric composition to create habitable zones.
- Design life from the ground up: combine cell types into single-celled and multicellular organisms, plants and animals.
- Guide or observe evolution as creatures adapt, compete and form ecological networks. Maintain balance to avoid extinctions.
- Explore your creations in first-person: walk across your planets and see ecosystems at ground level.
Notable notes
- The civilizations system - where intelligent species form tribes and develop technology - is planned but not yet available in Early Access; it will arrive in a major future update.
Key features
- Full sandbox planet editor: terrain, tectonics, volcanism and core heat control.
- Dynamic climate tools: manipulate rain, clouds and albedo to change global and regional climates.
- Atmosphere customization: adjust gases to influence habitability.
- Cell-stage biology: create life from basic cells up to complex organisms and plants.
- Evolutionary simulation: species compete, adapt and interact within emergent ecosystems.
- Ecosystem management: balance flora and fauna to prevent collapse and extinctions.
- First-person exploration: experience your planet and creatures up close.
- Ongoing development: bigger features (like civilizations) planned for future updates.
Who it’s for
If you enjoy slow-building sandbox simulations, worldbuilding and biological/ecological systems, Planetary Life offers a deep toybox for experimentation and emergent storytelling. Expect an evolving Early Access project with more features to come.
