MISERY is a tense, atmospheric co-op rogue-lite survival game that will appeal to fans of Lethal Company and STALKER. You and your friends play as PMCs tasked with guarding a secret research institute in the Republic of Zaslavie - the Scientific Institute for Research of the Zaslavie Exclusion Zone (SIRZEZ). When nuclear war erupts, you’ve got 60 seconds to grab what you can and dive into the bunker. After that, every day is a fight to survive.

Each raid sends you into a procedurally generated Zone full of abandoned bases, research stations, radioactive wastelands and ruined cities to scavenge. The environment itself is as dangerous as the creatures and other survivors you’ll meet: mutants with distinct behaviors, hostile humans who’ll kill for food and gear, and unpredictable anomalies. Anomalies can either help or kill you, and they often guard rare artifacts - valuable items that grant strange effects and drive much of the game’s risk/reward tension.

Back at the bunker you slowly rebuild a life: expand rooms, set up generators (gas, solar, or more eccentric options), craft equipment, grow and cook food, and furnish the shelter with scavenged items. Unwind in the institute’s basement bar to drink, trade artifacts with a merchant, barter loot, and socialize between excursions. Managing vitals and sanity is crucial - hunger, thirst, radiation, and stress can all kill you, and too much stress leads to hallucinations and paranoia that can turn teammates against each other.

MISERY’s loop of high-stakes raids, discovery, and base progression creates a grim but rewarding co-op experience. The Zone’s mysteries and oppressive mood make every outing memorable, especially when you’re sharing the danger with friends: watching each other’s backs, trading supplies, and finding small comforts around a fire.
