Fuel is precious, technology is cobbled together from whatever wreckage you can find, and survival depends on scavenging hostile star systems. You’re just one of hundreds of captains, each driven by the same hunger for resources-none of them bow to a central hero, and alliances shift as scarcity forces friends and rivals alike into conflict.

As you explore, AI-driven factions emerge, carve out territories, build resource hubs and fortresses, then splinter or band together when it suits them. Your choices feed into a living universe: you can found your own faction, recruit allies or turn to piracy. Every encounter on the star map can spark combat, and battles are the pulse of the game-mixing tactical ship-to-ship duels with on-the-fly customization.

Shipbuilding is fully modular and parts are randomly generated, each with unique stats and damage states. In the heat of battle you can rip off enemy components with your tractor beam and slot them into your own hull. Placement matters: a misaligned engine can slow your turn rate, a blocked turret won’t fire, and uneven power distribution can leave weapons cold. Every scrap you salvage becomes a chance to refine your flagship or jury-rig a deadly new design.

Movement and combat play out on a 2D plane in a 3D physics environment: flinging debris at foes, dodging broadsides, and managing power to engines, shields and weapons. Battles unfold over minutes of gruesome, satisfying destruction rather than split-second exchanges.
