Viking Vengeance is a God-Worshiping Rogue-lite Dungeon Crawler ARPG set in a historical fiction world. You play as a Templar with pagan origins who rediscovers his roots and learns to wield the powers of the Norse Gods in his quest to change the destiny of his people and stop Ragnarok.

In the game, you can worship gods by praying and bringing sacrifices to unlock alternate fighting styles and blessings. Each god offers unique powers and abilities, which you can access by filling up your devotion bar. The more you worship them, the faster your avatar forms will level up, but neglecting a god might anger them. Gods can be pleased to improve your chances of receiving their help in battle by using certain equipment or passive runes. Discovering God Runes will unlock new skills for your avatar state, allowing you to wield Thor’s hammer, use Loki's mischief skills, or Odin's power to crush your enemies.

Viking Vengeance offers two different classes, each with unique gear and weapons. Characters are visually distinct and grant access to different skills and items that must be used in combination with the Worship mechanic. These combinations provide unique experiences and influence how you approach encounters. Each class can execute enemies after their health reaches a certain threshold, providing health recovery or extra blood currency for reviving, boosting devotion, or other gains.

The game features a "Death Cheating Viking" mechanic, where you can negotiate your way out of Valhalla by bribing the Valkyrie. You can choose to revive on the spot for a blood cost or return to your last saved location, which restarts the world and makes you a target for other valkyries.

As you progress, you can grow permanently stronger by choosing new skills, upgrading old ones, or acquiring new equipment. The game encourages seeking knowledge from various NPCs to gain different perspectives on the unfolding events, revealing that things are not always as they seem.

The environment and game physics can be used strategically in battles. You can throw enemies into fires, trick them into traps, or use Loki’s poisonous daggers. At the end of your journey, Fimbulwinter, the omen of Ragnarok, brings new challenges like Frost Draugar and the Frost Dragon. The world changes with you, and the realms are more connected than ever.
