Asteroids and Aliens is a modern arcade shooter that nods to classic arcade games. In this fast-paced, 2D top-down space shooter, you pilot a retro-style rocket ship reminiscent of the one from the 1979 Asteroids game. The ship is fully maneuverable, allowing you to rotate 360 degrees, adjust your thrust for varied speeds, and even reverse your direction when necessary.

The game features 20 levels plus an additional final challenge level. In each stage, you must complete a set of specific tasks while hunting for a hidden machine part that’s randomly placed. Once all tasks in a level are completed, a gateway opens up, allowing you to progress to the next stage. With every level, the locations of enemies, items, and machine parts change randomly, keeping the gameplay fresh and unpredictable.

Your arsenal includes missiles, bullets, lasers, smart bombs, and a nuke EMP. Missiles and bullets are available in unlimited supply, while lasers, smart bombs, and the nuke EMP are limited and need to be used strategically. Lasers help clear asteroids effectively, the nuke EMP can destroy or damage nearby enemies within the visible screen area, and smart bombs home in on select enemies automatically.

The game starts off with a more casual feel in the early levels but quickly evolves into a high-intensity shooter. Additionally, if you’ve activated a checkpoint during your playthrough, you have the option to continue from that point rather than restarting from the beginning.
