The New Apartment is a short 3D horror puzzle game that puts you in the shoes of someone living in a suspiciously cheap apartment complex in rural Vermont. Waking up disoriented and groggy, you begin your evening routine—washing the dishes, brushing your teeth, closing the curtains—only to notice that something feels off. Whether it’s a subtle change in the air, a peculiar layout in the building, or perhaps just your imagination running wild, an unsettling atmosphere has crept into your familiar space.

As you continue your nightly chores, you can’t shake the feeling that you’re not entirely alone. The soft echo of distant footsteps or whispered voices, although faint, intensifies the eerie ambiance. Despite this creeping paranoia, life must go on; after all, you have work early in the morning.

Designed to be experienced in about ten to twenty minutes, The New Apartment is a first-person, single-player game that focuses on a blend of atmospheric puzzles and narrative elements rather than relying on jump scares. The experience is self-contained, making it accessible without any prior background knowledge.

Developed using Unreal Engine 5 by solo developer Paul Thomas, the game is supported by playtesters @Fliirt, @Neplooo, and @BitOfTomfoolery. It does include some content such as flickering lights that may trigger seizures in individuals with epilepsy, as well as a few frightening scenes, so caution is advised for sensitive players.
