Superliminal is a first-person puzzle game that challenges players with its unique use of forced perspective and optical illusions. As you navigate through a dream world, the game constantly subverts your expectations, requiring you to think outside the box to solve puzzles and ultimately wake up from the dream. The narrative begins with you falling asleep in front of the TV, only to find yourself in the experimental Somnasculpt dream therapy program led by Dr. Glenn Pierce. Throughout the game, Dr. Pierce and his AI assistant guide you, though the AI seems to have its own agenda.

The game emphasizes the concept that perception is reality, encouraging players to explore and manipulate their surroundings in unexpected ways. Superliminal also includes a developer commentary feature, offering insights into the game's creation and design process.
